Sage – Gameplay and Ability List

The VALORANT team released information around Sage, and as the Walmart Gandalf of the crew, I couldn’t be more excited to see this caster on the field. Sage’s keen ability to create safety for herself and her team wherever she goes creates a calm center on an otherwise hellish battlefield. Her abilities to revive fallen friends and stave off forceful assaults provide support in clutch situations.

SLOW ORB – Cast out a radianite orb that breaks into a slowing field upon impact with the ground. All caught in the field are slowed, grounded, and make noise when moving.

BARRIER ORB – Conjure a large, solid wall. Right-click to rotate the wall before casting.

HEALING ORB – Heal an ally or yourself to full health over a few seconds.

RESURRECTION – Target a friendly corpse. After a short delay, revive them with full health.

Our Take on Sage

Although she is clearly a supporting character, the ability to block paths, heal characters, and revive provide an element of balance. Offensive characters can easily get burned or clipped badly enough to make them vulnerable. Having Sage on your side enables mistakes to be countered and reset the playing field back to being level. Her ability to slow enemies down (we’re looking at you, Jett) and otherwise incapacitate them also lend to setting your team in a position of authority.

Check back in for more, but for now feel free to browse other characters like Sova, Viper, and Phoenix.
